This Project was completed in under 3 weeks, which is why I am viewing it as more of a „Draft“ (/a Proof of Concept) to visualize my Idea for the Book now.
For each page, I would initially sketch the characters with watercolor pencils on mixed media paper, then manipulate the pigment to fill in the individual shapes. This also makes it easy to implement values quickly.
Although we reside in a digital era, I firmly believe in capturing the relatable textures and effects that can only be achieved on real paper. When I was happy with the character, I would draw the background and edit the page digitally to achieve the final result. In the final version of the book I want to draw paint the Backgrounds on real Paper aswell.
